Supporting Charities

Donating, sponsoring, or just getting stuck in. At Gepp Solicitors, we support national and local charities in all kinds of ways.

Here are a few things we’ve been involved with lately:

Local Charities

Gepp Solicitors Charity of the Year - Columbus School and College

Gepp Solicitors are proud supporters of Chelmsford-based Columbus School and College. Columbus is one of the largest Special Educational Needs Schools in the country and caters for pupils, aged 3-19, who all have severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities. The ethos of the school is one of belief and opportunity and aims to provide the students with the best possible chance to attain new curriculum skills as well as highly important communication, independence, social and life skills.

Throughout 2017 staff at Gepp Solicitors have been raising funds for Columbus through a number of different activities culminating in a public appearance of the Gepps' Christmas Choir in Chelmsford Town Centre. Our Facebook page contains more details of the Christmas fundraising activities during the Gepp & Sons Christmas Charity Week 2017.

The staff and Partners at Gepp Solicitors were also proud to sponsor the Columbus School and College Christmas lunch, donating funds which enabled the students, staff and parents to enjoy a Christmas meal, with all the trimmings, together before the end of term.

All of the money raised so far has been used to purchase resources to help the students of Columbus School and College achieve their potential and we look forward to continuing this support in 2018.

Christmas Present Appeal

In association with Age UK, the Christmas Present Appeal distributes donated gifts to elderly residents and adults around Essex who spend Christmas alone. This year staff at Gepp Solicitors contributed to the 2017 Christmas Present Appeal by donating gifts to those in need in our community.

Eastern Legal Support Trust (ELST)

The ELST raises funds and awareness for the most vulnerable members of society who are unable to afford legal support. Funds are distributed to organisations that support those who need legal advice and assistance, giving them access to justice. Gepp Solicitors have proudly raised funds for the ELST by taking part in the Great Legal Bake as well as the Chelmsford Legal Walk

Beresfords Dash for Cash

Staff at Gepp Solicitors took part in, and volunteered as stewards at, the Beresfords' Dash for Cash, a 3 mile fun run around Chelmsford, in aid of Lord Taverners (Essex Region). Lord Taverners is a sports charity which is dedicated to giving disadvantaged and disabled young people the chance to play, train, compete, learn, have fun and make friends through sports.

Colour Run

In support of Headway Essex, who provide brain injury and support, Partners and Fee Earners from Gepp Solicitors took part in the Colchester Colour 5K, a fun run with a difference…every kilometre runners passed through a colour zone, showering them in colour powder.

Essex Dog Day

We are prouEssex Dog Dayd to continue our support of the Essex Dog Day now in its fifth year. As sponsors of ‘Best in Show’ year on year we have seen so much raised for so many good causes. With over 9,000 visitors last year £68,000 was raised for local charities and community groups from all across Essex.

Churches’ Homeless Emergency Support Scheme

ChessThe Churches’ Homeless Emergency Support Scheme (CHESS) provides a safe haven for the homeless in Chelmsford. We donate food, clothing and other items throughout the year, whenever we can.

National Charities

Red Nose Day

Tackling poverty in the UK and around the world, staff at Gepp Solicitors dressed up in red, baked Red Nose Day treats and took part in a special Red Nose Day sweepstake.

Christmas Jumper Day

Raising money for Save the Children, staff at Gepp Solicitors wore a variety of Christmas Jumpers for the day. The money raised will go towards helping children whose lives have been affected by conflict, and will help protect children from easily preventable yet deadly diseases like pneumonia and malaria.
