Essex Schools Food Farming Day

3 April 2013

A team of 180 stewards from local farms and business throughout Essex attended Writtle Agricultural College and guided 3000 local school children around 5 different farm zones:  livestock, machinery, crops, food and countryside.

The aim of the day was to explain to children where their food comes from.  All of the exhibitors had put an enormous amount of effort into producing displays that engaged the children’s imagination.  Particular highlights were the sheep shearing demonstration and the machinery show.  Also very popular was the food demonstration.

Gepp & Sons would like to thank Essex Agricultural Society and their partners for the opportunity to contribute to the day.
