New statutory pay rates for 2018

The Department for Work and Pensions has published statutory rates for maternity pay, paternity pay, shared parental pay, adoption pay, sick pay and national living wage for 2018-19. The new figures will come into force in April 2018. 

1. From 1 April 2018, statutory maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental pay will increase to £145.18 a week (up from £140.98).

2. From 9 April, Maternity allowance will increase to £145.18 a week (up from £140.98).

3. From 6 April 2018, the weekly rate of statutory sick pay will be £92.05 (up from £89.35).

4. From 1 April 2018 the national living wage for workers aged 25+ will increase to £7.83, the standard adult rate for workers aged 21-24 will be £7.38, and the development rate for workers aged 18-20 will be £5.90.
