Ministry of Justice error leads to divorce deals being threatened

25 November 2015

Debts were not included in the calculations, potentially producing inflated and inaccurate figures.

Though unsure of the numbers of those affected, the Ministry of Justice is rapidly trying to identify such cases and write to the affected parties.

This may mean that many divorced couples will have to renegotiate their settlements.

This is not legal advice; it is intended to provide information of general interest about current legal issues.
