Company bosses to be aware of proposed new laws for failure to prevent fraud

29 September 2016

Under proposed new laws, company bosses could be prosecuted for failing to stop their employees committing fraud.

Prime Minister Theresa May has vowed to tackle corporate crime.

The government propose to extend the existing legislation by making employers responsible for not only preventing money-laundering and false accounting but also fraud.

The proposed changes follows claims that while some individuals were convicted over the Libor rigging scandal, UK authorities lacked the powers to act against the individual’s employers/institutions.

Here at Gepp & Sons we can advise on all aspects of Company Law and well as offering expert defense representation in company criminal matters.
