According to a recent report published by Lloyds TSB parents are having to part with almost £34,000 extra to secure a home close to the country’s top performing schools.
Postal districts of the top 30 secondary schools were on average 12% (£33,631) higher than neighbouring locations in their county.
The typical price for a home in the postal district of England’s best state schools is £303,902. This is £67,581 (29%) higher than the average English house price of £236,321.
