Peddling for the Taverners….

22 May 2019

Savills Chelmsford and invited guests will be taking part in their first charity cycling event on Thursday 30 May in support of the Lords Taverners in Essex.

The Lord’s Taverners is national charity with many well-known faces from the world of sports and media as members. Their sole aim is to fund projects to give disadvantaged and disabled young people a sporting chance in life. Every penny raised from this event will go to support future projects across Essex.

Recent Lord’s Taverners project in Essex include the installation of two sensory rooms at the Columbus School and College in Chelmsford, specially adapted outdoor play and gym areas for special needs schools including Thriftwood School in Galleywood and the Anderson School for Autism in Chigwell. Last year a specially adapted minibus was presented to the Endeavour School for special needs in Brentwood and a further specially adapted bus is on order for another school in North Essex. A number of specialist sports wheel chairs were provided to the Harlow High Rollers wheel chair basketball club as well as a specialist sports wheelchair for the lovely Freya Levy, Essex’s next Paralympian in the making.

We are delighted that Gepp Solicitors very own Gregory John will be taking part in a 50 mile loop, along with around 40 other cyclists!

The 50 Mile Loop

Around 50 keen cyclists including Savills staff, their clients and business friends will be leaving the Savills offices in Chelmsford heading out to Little Baddow and then Cold Norton, before heading back towards Hanningfield, Fryerning and then home. Naturally, there will be a pit stop half way at a local public house for well-deserved refreshments for them all!

Gregory John is an associate here with us at Gepp Solicitors, working in the Private Client department. He is also and a keen fitness and cycling enthusiast! He is delighted to be supporting the Lords Taverners charity and we’re proud that one of our staff members can use their passion for fitness to raise some much-needed funds for such a worthwhile charity.

The following video will show you more about what the Lord’s Taverners achieved in 2018.
