As we recently reported, Tony Nicklinson lost his battle for the right to die last week at the High Court.
Following the High Court's decision, Mr Nicklinson is said to have refused food, which was the only way he could commit suicide, being paralysed from the neck down.
It remains to be seen whether the law will be changed in the future for others in a similar situation, as there have been many cases brought before the courts. Any such changes remains in the hands of Parliament.
