Website Editor facing legal action

The letter, which has now been removed from the website, is said to defame the principal and two other members of the senior management staff of St Mary’s University College, Twickenham.

Lawyers acting for the principal are now pressing for the editor to publish the authors’ identity, stating that a failure to do so would be contrary responsible journalistic practice. However, the website editor has been unwavering in her refusal do so and is quoted as saying that she would be willing to face prison in order to keep in with the long-established protocol that journalists do no reveal their sources.
