Working with CHESS in 2019

5 February 2020

At Gepp Solicitors, it's not just about providing excellent legal services to the people and businesses from across Essex, it's also about us helping to improve the lives of those in our community.

Our staff often pool their coins together in the office to help charities working within the district of Chelmsford and beyond.

In 2019, the staff at Gepps chose local homeless charity CHESS, a change program that aims to facilitate people moving away from life on the streets in and around Chelmsford and onto independent living, as their nominated charity.

By organising and participating in everything from bake sales to dress down days, the staff at Gepps raised just under £2,500 for CHESS in 2019.

The money raised will help CHESS;

  • provide access to external services such as an Osteopath, Art Therapy sessions, IT Training & Support and Cookery lessons,
  • hold sessions with a certified EMDR therapist at £40 per hour,
  • towards the costs for each person to stay at the night shelter or at one of their move on properties, which is around £100 per week per person

Last week, the final cheque £1,279.19 was presented to Agnes Frazer by Karen Fresle, Gepp’s CSR Treasurer.

Karen said, ”this is a cause we are all very passionate about, as they provide support on our doorstep for those that need it the most especially during the colder months”.
