Police crackdown for those using mobile phones when driving

29 November 2016

Police are conducting another week-long crackdown on drivers who use their mobile phones whilst driving.

Measures include dedicated patrols and messages on road signs.

This move follows the government's plan to double fines and points to those caught using a mobile phone behind the wheel.

Following a national week of action in May, police said this resulted in the detection of 2,323 offences across in one week.
