Following a crash on the A11 in Thetford, Norfolk there were 13 drivers who were caught by the police using their mobile phones to take photos of an overturned lorry. Clearly, this is something which constitutes a danger on the road and of course will lead to them being reported by the police for 'driving and using a mobile phone'.  Not only are such actions of themselves dangerous it is understood that the offenders are mainly HGV drivers who clearly drive for a living and the police would suggest are putting both their own and others' lives at risk. Fortunately no one was hurt when the lorry overturned. Those drivers reported for using their mobile phones stand to get six penalty points on their licence and a £200 fine.
