Growth in UK house prices sped up in the year to October

30 September 2015

According to the BBC the country's largest lender, the Halifax announced house prices rose in October by 1.1%, this follows a decline of 0.9% in the previous month. This increase has brought the average price for a flat or house across the country up to £205,240 – a record high!

Whilst demand is good and properties are being snapped up fast, estate agency group Countrywide, whose brands include Bairstow Eves and Hamptons warned that full-year profits might be down due to fewer properties coming onto the market.
