Law Society state it is wrong to increase fees when service is still subject to significant delays

Proposals published by the Ministry of Justice on 8th July suggest a flat fee of £273 for all applicants applying for a Grant of Probate. This is a significant increase from the current £155 for probate professionals and £215 for individuals.

The Law Society president I. Stephanie Boyce, however, was quick to label the increase as ‘unacceptable’ given the fact grieving families are still suffering due to ‘significant delays’ in the service.
