Stranger times call for "Stranger Things"

The current national lockdown does not appear to be ending anytime soon, as we continue to seek to protect the many heroes currently serving in the NHS.

For those of you reading this in the NHS or classed as a key worker, please do check out our 50% off wills and LPAs offer for key workers and our FAQ.

I, like many others, have found myself with a lot more time on my hand that I am looking to fill before my wife fills it with the chores I have been putting off around the house. One way I have sought to do this is by catching up on many of the great TV shows and films that I have previously not had the time to watch when my life was a bit more hectic.

For those of you not sure what to binge watch next, I could strongly recommend you give some of your time to Stranger Things on Netflix. It is best described in one review as "exciting, heartbreaking, and sometimes scary, Stranger Things acts as an addictive homage to Spielberg films and vintage 1980s television". It also has a cracking soundtrack.

Without giving too much away for those that are still to watch it, one of the characters, Joyce Byers (played by Winona Ryder), needs to find more creative ways to communicate with her son, Will, who is trapped in "the Upside Down". She inadvertently discovers a way of doing this with Christmas lights - which enabled Will to light up individual lights so that he can spell words out for Joyce.

Although not quite to the extent of Stranger Things, to many our current situation feels a bit 'upside down' and many people are needing to find new and creative ways to stay in contact. We at Gepps are no exception to this and we have needed to really review the way we work to ensure that clients still receive the same level of service from us that they have come to expect over the years.

This has included utilising technology for telephone and video appointments to also attending client's properties to witness documents through windows so that we can continue to provide an important service to our clients while protecting their safety and respecting the governmental instruction on social distancing.

These may be stranger times, but Gepps continue to be available to you and your legal needs, whether those be Private Client related or another service offered by the firm to ensure that you can still receive the legal advice you need. Should you wish to discuss how we might be able to help at this time, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01245 228125 or email me directly at
