Michael is head of our Dispute Resolution Team and has over 25 years' experience in litigation work specialising in property litigation. Michael has worked in this area since qualifying in 1992. He obtained a Degree in Law from Birmingham University and completed his training contract at Norton Rose in the City of London and then practiced with several different firms before being appointed as a partner in 2001. He joined Gepp Solicitors in 2012 as a partner. He is a qualified mediator and he is presently studying to sit the final exams at UCL to qualify as a notary public in April 2019.
Michael is a litigator specialising in property litigation cases. He has dealt with all aspects of property litigation including landlord and tenant disputes, renewals, rent reviews, dilapidation disputes, neighbour disputes, repair cases and tenant insolvency cases. Michael's work included a greater emphasis on how clients need to consider the effects of the economic downturn and now as the economy improves, clients are looking at opportunities with a fresh perspective. He also advises on contentious probate cases.
Concise and clear legal advice is what Michael provides for his clients. Over the years he has become very adept at highlighting the various implications of different courses of action which enables his clients to agree the best resolution to their problems and disputes.
Memberships & Accreditations
Michael is a qualified mediator with CEDR (The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution). He is presently serving as the Treasurer of the Mid Essex Law Society and is on the committee of EARLLS (East Anglian Grouping of Local Law Societies). He has been a member of the Property Litigation Association for over 10 years.
As of October 2019, Michael qualified as a Notary Public.
